Simulator of a Multistation SCC supervision system
Brief
Simulation of a Multistation Supervision System (SCC) that interfaces with real railway signalling systems for remote control functions.
Project challenge
To implement a software simulator that emulates the management of command-control messages, in all the classes foreseen by the project specifications, that a supervision system exchanges with the railway signalling entities in a Multistation context.
Solution
The supervision system simulator developed by NIER was included in the client’s simulation environment used to carry out testing activities during the design phase of railway signalling equipment prototypes.
Execution phases
Analysis of the project technical specifications.
Implementation of the data structures necessary for the management of the various types of messages.
Design of the graphical interface and the UDP message management core.
Software testing developed according to the reference standards established by the CENELEC regulations.
Validation of the simulator at the interfaces with real entities.
Achieved results
The client was able to use the simulator developed and validated by NIER to recreate the operating conditions of a command and control supervision system in the laboratory and use it to appropriately test the signalling equipment prototypes under development.
