Consulting and support for Planner and Cost Estimate activities on WBS for the management of an oil & gas remediation project
Brief
Remediate 500 sites, for one of Europe’s most important fuel wholesalers. Each site presents the most appropriate and efficient technical approach to achieve the objectives, applying innovative remediation technologies. This resulted in a timetable for each remediation site grouped into one overall programme.
Project challenge
The complexity of the activities combined with the micro-granularity of the information required the elaboration of a timetable with many activities to allow for a timely monitoring of the project costs.
Solution
Collaboration with the client’s team, training of the internal resources in order to make the client independent in the planning and monitoring phases of the project.
Execution phases
Collection of information with dedicated and targeted meetings to study and analyse the pre-existing situation.
Planning of activities and input of the necessary resources into the provided software application (Oracle Primavera P6), useful for calculating the Earned Value.
Calculation of the Earned Value and Performance Indexes of Projects with particular reference to the Cost Performance Index.
Training of a junior resource.

Thorough planning of the project and cost monitoring. The client is now able to plan and monitor projects on Oracle Primavera P6 independently from the consultant/trainer.
