Support for SW development in the automotive field
Brief
Identify weaknesses and provide operational guidelines for automotive SW development and application of the ISO 26262 standard.
Project challenge
to assist the client, highlighting regulatory discrepancies, both in general process-related contexts and expressly on requirements related to functional specifications, architecture and source code.
Solution
NIER applied its experience on SW life cycles in highly regulated contexts to identify weaknesses in the client process and provide guidance on a practical, vertical problem-solving approach specifically oriented to the scope of application.
Execution phases
Analysis of SW safety requirements, SW architecture and pre-existing code;
Definition of the source code verification process, with support for the configuration of the PCLint tool and critical reading of the first automatic “Source Code Verification Report”, with respect to MISRA:2012 rules for the C language;
Conduct of a gap analysis between the documentation provided and the regulations, with an indication of the critical points in relation to an external assessment and an initial corrective action plan;
Analysis of the software baseline, comparison with the software architecture specification and indication of how to improve the configuration management process to adhere to the component breakdown expressed by the architecture
