FUNCTIONAL SAFETY ENGINEER - BOLOGNA-NAPOLI

WE NEED YOU FOR THESE ACTIVITIES:

NIER Ingegneria is increasing the technical team of the Systems Engineering department and is looking for a Functional Safety engineer with professional experience to join the technical team working for the automotive industry.

PLACE OF WORK

  • First-period location (6-12 months): BOLOGNA;
  • Definitive location: BOLOGNA, NAPOLI.

Preferred definitive location to be specified within the proposal for interview.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

  • Work with customers, field teams, and product teams to evaluate customer requirements related to quality, functional safety and automotive Reliability-Availability-Maintainability;
  • Guide development teams in functional safety analysis across product planning, concept, design, implementation, and verification;
  • Assist and/or conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative functional safety analyses such as FMEA/FMEDA, DFMEA, DFA and FTA;
  • Support development of key functional safety documents such as technical safety concepts, functional safety mechanisms as well as execution of functional safety assessments;
  • Work closely with internal development teams and automotive customers to ensure coordinated functional safety compliance;
  • Participate in quality and functional safety reviews and provide reports;
  • Maintain and enhance functional safety analysis and development methods, templates, and work products;
  • Execution of technical activities for the development of automotive equipment and systems;
  • Requirements management and verification activities;
  • Verification of compliance to standards and norms;
  • Iteration with clients for the planning of technical activities, acquisition of input, presentation of intermediate and final results.

YOU ARE PERFECT FOR US IF YOU HAVE:

  • Master’s degree in engineering (preferably computer science, electronics, robotics, industrial automation, electric, mechanics, aerospace);
  • Knowledge and understanding of an Automotive OEM;
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in functional safety engineering automotive industry (functional safety standard required: ISO 26262);
  • Knowledge of the main on-board electronic systems in the automotive sector;
  • Understanding of Electronic-Electric Systems Engineering Process (“V” model preferred);
  • Experience in the drafting of functional safety documentation (safety plan, functional/technical safety concept, verification report, safety case);
  • Independence in carrying out the required technical activities;
  • Fluent Italian (spoken and written);
  • Good knowledge of English (spoken and written, at least level B1);
  • Problem solving skills, goal orientation, flexibility, strong motivation, ability to work in a team;
  • Willingness for national travel.

IF YOU ALSO HAVE THESE QUALITIES, WE APPRECIATE IT:

  • Knowledge of quality standards such as Automotive SPICE or IATF 16949 or ISO 9001;
  • Knowledge of international standards for functional safety in general (IEC61508) and specifically for railway (EN50126, EN50129), nuclear (IEC 61226, IEC 61513), process (IEC61511), manufacturing (IEC62061) industries;
  • Knowledge of European Directives (e.g. Machinery, Electromagnetic compatibility);
  • Knowledge in RAMS engineering methods (e.g. FMEA/FMECA), techniques (e.g. RBD, FTA) and software tools (e.g. Isograph-FaultTree+, ALD-RAM Commander, Reliasoft-Blocksim or similar);
  • Knowledge of software tools for Requirement Management and Verification (e.g. DOORS, POLARION);
  • Knowledge in programming by DOORS Extension Language (DXL);
  • Knowledge AGILE methodology;
  • Willingness for international travel.
