Integrated Management Systems

We are living in a historic time of great changes at the global and local level. One need that clearly emerges is the need to define new relationships, recognising connections between different problems, distinct but inseparable, from the perspective of the smart society.

A typical example of this dynamic is the integration of company management systems: quality, safety, environment, social responsibility, business continuity, energy, etc. Distinct dimensions of a single organisational reality.

Business risk analysis – nowadays the basis of the systemic approach – is the glue of integration: the risks are the company’s risks, whatever their origin, and the decision-making processes that derive from analysing useful and rational risk information are by their nature integrated, referring in any case to the ultimate direction.

The implementation of an integrated management system cannot be reduced to applying standards; these are a useful reference, but not the purpose of system integration.

NIER contributes to designing Integrated Management Systems, dealing in particular with the aspects of quality, environment, energy, work safety and occupational health, road safety, supply chain safety, social responsibility, climate change and the circular economy.
